Role Overview: The Public Relations Associate supports day-to-day public relations and communications activities across multiple client accounts. This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career professional who is building a strong foundation in PR, media relations, and communications strategy. The PR Associate works closely with senior leadership and is responsible for execution, coordination and support across earned media, content development, events and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Media & Communications Support
Draft press releases, media advisories, pitch emails, boilerplates, and talking points
Research, build and maintain targeted media lists across local, regional and national outlets as well as influencer and community partnership lists
Support proactive and reactive media outreach efforts
Monitor news cycles and flag relevant opportunities
Proofread and fact-check all materials for accuracy, AP style, and brand voice
Content & Social Support
Assist with drafting content for websites, blogs, newsletters, and social media
Support content alignment between earned media and shared and owned channels
Help gather assets, quotes, and approvals for communications materials
Organization & Reporting
Track deadlines, deliverables, and media activity across accounts
Monitor and compile media coverage
Assist with coverage reports and post-campaign recaps
Events & Campaign Support
Support planning for events, activations, festivals, galas and community programs
Assist with media and influencer coordination before, during, and after events
Help prepare press materials, media lists, run-of-show documents, and event briefing sheets
Support on-site event needs
Assist with post-event follow-up
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Familiarity with basic PR tools and platforms
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of Atlanta media landscape (plus regional or national outlets)
Experience supporting events, announcements, or campaigns with media coverage
Working knowledge of social media strategy as it relates to PR, including content alignment, campaign amplification, and real-time engagement
Experience identifying, researching, and supporting outreach to influencers, creators, or community voices aligned with brand values and campaign goals
Comfort working in a fast-moving, small-team environment
